PAL (Preparation for Adult Life) is our online programme designed to support young adults.
The programme enables young adults to understand their internal programming meaning they begin to learn vital information about themselves, their triggers, their language, their behaviours.
Enabling them to take responsibility for their actions and further understand how it will support their mind management and wellbeing.
It can enhance developing independence and support academic study and work practices, family and social interactions enabling them to elevate their emotional literacy.
There are more than 18 Chapters in the programme which are designed to provide flexible pathways for exploration.
The goal is to foster independence in young adults’ thinking and help them discover their true selves. The chapters are designed to facilitate authentic learning by addressing real-life challenges. Individuals are urged to develop their critical thinking skills through introspective reflection to effectively tackle the diverse problems they may encounter.Â
Topics within the first 6 chapters:
Chapter 1: Becoming the CEO of your life
Remembering that you are able to make decisions to enhance your life.
Chapter 2: Self- Mastery
Understanding me, who am I? How do I react in various situations? How can I control various aspects of my life? Using the emotional triad information within this chapter.
Chapter 3: Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is the foundation of most of the personal development tools, working on this area at the start of your amazing adult life will really set you up for many of life’s encounters
Chapter 4: Language Alchemy
Understanding how your inner dialogue works, enabling you to manage various areas of your life
Chapter 5: Listening to your own inner coach
Being able to ask powerful questions in the moment enabling your rational mind to support you when needed
Chapter 6: Building mental toughness
The basis of resilience enabling you to get back up when we’ve been knocked down

What is the structure of each chapter?
All the chapters follow the same structure. Each chapter is broken into ‘6 bitesize chunks’ with a reflection piece and an action step to help Individuals embed the strategies within their routines so that they become a natural part of them. Each section introduces an idea related to a main topic and comprises of:
An exploration of the idea: A video and text version.
The explanation is followed by a ‘Reflection Piece’ which helps them to explore the idea and connect it with their life experiences.
Then there is an ‘Action Piece’, an activity to enable them to practice the skill that has been introduced.
Participants will also:
If they have signed up for this service: receive a certificate of completion at the end of each 6 chapters from the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management)
Complete a self-assessment E-portfolio at the end of each chapter that the young adult can take with them into the workplace
The PAL programme supports the further development of a range of life skills that can enable individuals to live a balanced, healthy enjoyable life. Life skills are usually defined as the abilities and behaviours that enable us to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life. UNICEF, UNESCO and WHO list the nine core life skill strategies and techniques as:

3. Effective communication skills,
4. Decision-making,
5. Creative thinking,
6. Interpersonal relationship skills,
7. Self- awareness building skills,
8. Empathy,
9. Coping with stress and emotions.
The PAL programme actively engages and seeks to support participants to further develop their skills and abilities in all the areas. Critical thinking, problem solving, self-awareness building and coping with stress and emotions are in every chapter whilst effective communication skills, creative thinking, interpersonal relationship skills can be found in most chapters.
